[Job Details:]

The Laboratory for Atmospheric Research (LAR) at Washington State University invites applications for a post-doctoral research appointment with an effective start date of September 15, 2010. Candidates are sought with experience in atmospheric aerosol measurements, and particularly in aerosol mass spectrometry. Projects will focus on characterizing organic aerosol derived from various sources under both laboratory and field conditions. Significant travel will be required, and the ability to work collaboratively within our group and with outside institutions is critical. The selected candidate must also demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. An earned Ph.D in a relevant engineering or science field is required before the date of hire.

The Laboratory for Atmospheric Research is an air quality research group with a long history and a strong reputation. Its strengths lie in atmospheric chemical field observations, instrument development, and numerical modeling across scales. There are eight faculty members in LAR, all of whom collaborate with WSU faculty and outside scientists on a broad range of projects. More information about LAR can be found at its website: http://www.lar.wsu.edu.

Screening of applications will begin July 15, 2010 and will continue until the position is filled. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a statement of qualifications which addresses all of the above requirements, and contact information for three references. Send applications to:
